ABOUT

Aerienirti is a contemporary artist based in Santorini, Greece. Her work explores the relationship between light, material, and inner energy through the contrast of raw volcanic textures and refined elements such as gold. Rooted in the unique landscape of the island, her practice reflects a process of transformation, where matter becomes a carrier of presence and symbolic intensity. Her works are presented at Celestial Glow Gallery in Imerovigli, overlooking the caldera.

CONCEPT

The work of Aerienirti is centered on the idea of transformation. Through the contrast between raw and precious materials, each piece reflects a process where matter evolves into a state of light and balance.
Gold is not used as decoration, but as a symbol of energy, continuity, and elevation. The compositions create a restrained yet powerful presence, inviting the viewer into a contemplative experience of space, material, and perception.

Irini Drosou (Aerienirti) approaches painting as a field of material and gestural inquiry, where color, movement and surface converge into a language of inner energy. Her compositions unfold through layered traces and chromatic rhythms, creating a dynamic tension between stillness and motion. What initially appears abstract gradually reveals a structured interplay of form, guiding the viewer toward a more intuitive reading.

Her work operates within a poetic form of chromatic automatism, where abstraction is not an escape, but a controlled dialogue between instinct and composition. Through this process, the gaze is drawn inward — toward the subconscious — where images emerge not as representations, but as impressions. In this space, painting becomes both a silent narrative and a personal confession, carried through color and gesture.

Irini Drosou’s practice unfolds as an exploration of space, time and inner perception. Her work moves beyond conventional boundaries, seeking to articulate a personal visual language rooted in freedom and authenticity. Through abstraction, she constructs a field where gesture and color become vehicles of expression rather than representation.

Light — both physical and internal — plays a central role in her compositions. The works do not remain static; they seem to breathe, to move, and to enter into dialogue with one another. Forms emerge and dissolve, oscillating between presence and absence, while maintaining a contemplative tension that resists fixed interpretation.

Color flows freely across the surface, unrestricted and organic, carrying within it a symbolic sense of continuity and life. This chromatic movement reflects a deeper search — one that connects the material act of painting with an inner, almost metaphysical dimension.

Encountering her work within the space of Celestial Glow Gallery transforms the viewing experience into something immersive. The environment functions as a threshold, where time, perception and inner reflection converge. In this context, the work does not simply present itself — it invites a personal journey.
